Maya Aboutanos, DO
I grew up in Indialantic, Florida and attended Elon University. I majored in Public Health and minored in Psychology, Poverty and Social Justice. I completed my medical degree at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Medical Interests: Sports Medicine, Street Medicine, and outpatient and inpatient procedures.
I enjoy snowboarding, rock climbing, traveling, having theological discussions, and attending music concerts! I also love diving into movie franchises and fantasy/science-fiction book series. However, spending time with family will always be my favorite pastime!
Fun Facts about Dr. Aboutanos: I'm half Lebanese so I grew up surrounded by incredible Mediterranean cuisine. I was raised in sunny Florida but I spent two years embracing the cold in Colorado for the sake of snowboarding. I served as a missionary in Georgia and Colorado during my college summers.
Alec Bertsch, DO
I grew up in Franklin, Indiana, and earned degrees in Bio-Chem and Neuroscience from Wabash College. I completed medical school at Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Pikeville, KY.
Medical Interests: Sports Medicine. OMM. “I am interested in outpatient medicine but want to see how inpatient suits me!”
I enjoy movies, comics, reading, and basketball.
Fun Facts about Dr. Bertsch: I traveled the country playing basketball as a kid. I have a dog named Peter Barker. I spent a summer in Greece helping with conservation research.
Lauren Kile, MD
I grew up in North Canton, Ohio. My undergraduate studies were completed at John Carroll University, where I majored in Biology and Psychology. I completed medical school at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.
Medical Interests: Pediatrics, Women’s Health, Dermatology, and in office procedures.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, reading both fiction and nonfiction, spending time with family and friends, and skiing.
Fun Facts about Dr. Kile: I am the designated taste tester in my family. Whenever they are unsure about what spice to add or if dish needs more seasoning they ask me! I am the youngest in a set of triplets by only 30 seconds. No, I do not have two sisters…. I have a sister and a brother!
Rachel Koch, DO
I grew up in Pickerington, Ohio, and attended Marshall University, where I earned degrees Biotechnology and psychology. I completed medical school Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Pikeville, KY.
Medical Interests: OMM, lifestyle medicine, sports medicine
In my free time, I love hiking, watching/playing sports, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Fun Facts about Dr. Koch: I played college soccer. I have a very cute dog that I rescued when I was in college. I’ve been to 7 National Parks and definitely plan on going to many more!
Tulshi Patel, MD
I grew up in Janesville, Michigan and attended the University of Michigan, earning degrees in Biology and Statistics. I completed medical school at Saint James School of Medicine.
Medical Interests: Inpatient Medicine, Preventative Care, Procedures, Pain Medicine, POCUS
I enjoy spending my free time doing DIY Crafts, working Out, running marathons, and participating in Bollywood Dancing/Choreography.
Fun Facts about Dr. Patel:I truly enjoy living in the Midwest as I get to experience all four seasons, my favorite season being Fall. I am vegetarian and enjoy cooking home-cooked meals almost daily. Something most people find funny about me is that I don't like salad dressing, so you will see me eating dry salads very often
Chris Reyes, MD
I grew up in Lima, Ohio, and attended the University of Dayton, where I studied Biology. I completed my medical degree at Our Lady of Fatima University in Valenzuela, Metro Manila, Philippines.
Medical Interests: “I am very interested in the family element of family dynamics and how culture and socioeconomic dynamics affects how one should approach a patient and tailor their care.”
In my free time, I enjoy music, reading, going to the gym, and cooking.
Fun Facts about Dr. Reyes: I love concerts, especially EDM. Last one I went to was North Coast back in 2022. I’ve started cooking as a hobby. I am very familiar with Filipino cuisines, and recently tried more challenging recipes, like Coq au Vin with Mash. I plan to try Paella and Timpano next! I enjoy all aspects of the outdoors and nature, intentionally choosing to live near Lincoln Park, in downtown Chicago, just a couple blocks from Lake Michigan.
Louis Troll, DO
I grew up in Upper Artlington, Ohio, and attended Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio. I earned a degree in Chemical Engineering before going on to earn my medical degree from Lincoln Memorial Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Medical Interests: Global health/Medical mission work.
In my free time, I spend time running, hiking, playing volleyball and pickleball. I also enjoy going out to eat with family and friends, bible study, fishing, and exercising and weightlifting.

Before going to medical school, I was a paper engineer.
